A Few More Christmas Questions

A few more Christmas meme questions that I found off of Shelley's blog, who found them off of Click... Click... Click... BANG!!!

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Santa wraps his gifts!

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Yup, too bad my cat is the only who's ever under it....*jumping up and down like a dam fool trying to knock it off the ceiling*

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Hmmm... which one to choose from... OK, I'm going to share the ones that makes me laugh the most. It was the year I was 3 and my parents Santa brought me a panda bear that had a radio inside of it. I love teddy bears and I love music, so Santa must have thought two-in-one was great. Not to a 3 year-old! I cuddled the bear for a bit when my mom wanted to show me what the bear could do. I might have only been three, but I understood that a stuffed animal, was just that, a stuffed animal. Mom turned on the bear and music started coming out of the bear. I screamed. Mom tried to hand the bear back to me and I knocked it out of her hands and across the room. I wanted to have nothing to do with a talking stuffed animal!

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
What are you saying?!?!

10. What kind of cookies does Santa get set out for him?
Usually it was chocolate chip cookies and beer.

11. Snow! Love it or dread it?
Love it when we have a school closing :)

12. Can you ice skate?
Does sliding across ice on your ass count?

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Cookie baking. It's the only time of the year that I bake them :)

18. What do you prefer... giving or receiving?
If we are strictly talking Christmas gifts then it's definitely giving. If we're talking "other" things.... well then... *giggle*

20. Candy canes... yuck or yum?
Yum in small doses.

What Tarot Card Are You?

You Are The Lovers

You represent ideal love: innocence, trust, exhilaration and joy. You demonstrate the harmony of opposites, two sides coming together. At times, you also represent the struggle between what is right and what is tempting. Control is an issue for you, especially when you don't know your reasons for choosing something.

Your fortune:
You have an important choice you need to make about love, and it will be a difficult choice to make. You are likely struggling between the love you crave and the love that is right. In the end, you will choose what you crave, even if it's bad for you. Because without what you crave, you will feel empty and incomplete.

With the exception that is was not MY choice, I don't think this fortune could be any more DEAD ON! It's almost a little scarey. I have to say that 9 times outta 10 these types of quizes usually nail my personality dead on. I miss him so much.

7 Random Things

TAG YOUR IT! *boy does that bring me back to my childhood*giggle*

I have seen the randoms list on so many people's blogs over the last few days. It really is amazing to see how things travel around the Internet. I have been tagged by PHD Knitter

The Rules: Each person tagged gives seven random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs seven facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag seven others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and need to read your blog.

1. I have lived in three different states. I grew up in New York, just outside the Big Apple, and lived there till I was 25. Then I moved to Carrollton, Georgia *you seriously learn to spell h-u-m-i-d-i-t-y when you live there*. I moved to Maryland in 2001. I was suppose to move to Illinois next, but that's a story for another day.

2. Between the ages of 5 - 17, I visited Westchester Medical Center ER more times then I care to remember. Here's the list of why -- I was 5 and didn't exactly listen to my dad. *go figure* Dad was putting new shingles on the roof and I ran by the ladder he was on. Just as I was approaching the ladder, it wobbled a little and my father let go of the shingle packet in order to hold on to the ladder, not realizing I was inches away until I screamed when the heavy packet of shingles hit me. I have no idea how it fell on my leg and not my head. I remember getting off my swing set to go talk to a neighbor and then I don't remember anything till after the doc put the cast. All I remember of that hospital visit was screaming "Don't kill me!" when the doc was approaching me with a knife to cut the cast around my toes so I could wiggle them. Yeah, my father turned 7 shades of embarrassment and I think the doctor started laughing. Other visits include stitches in my forehead when I ran into a wall corner and split my head open - stitches under my chin when I slipped and smacked my jaw on the cast iron sink that was in the basement room - a loose tooth that wouldn't stop bleeding and I refused to let my parents put their fingers in my mouth to pull it out *which is all the ER doc did and when I asked for my tooth back for the tooth fairy the doc laughed and said this tooth already cost the tooth fairy $85! I almost had to pick my mother up off the floor* - a sprained ankle from slipping on some water in the stairwell in middle school - a sprained wrist from breaking my fall when an ex-bf was being stupid and pulled me off a train station bench by my legs! I think that about covers it... for ER visits that is, not necessarily my accident proneness *grin* I just refused to go to the hospital later on.

3. I love horror movies! Not the icky, gory crap they put out these days, but the classic horror movies. When I was little, I used to hide in the little hallway just outside the living room and watch whatever horror movie my father was watching... till I got caught when I gasped or screamed. I was suppose to be in bed asleep. *heehee*which I think is why I thought the doc was going to kill me in the ER (referring to #1. It was the day after I had watched one of those old horror movies*

4. I have a thing for collecting fairies. I have always had an affinity for whimsical creatures, gnomes, dragons, dwarfs, but fairies are tops. Nena Brown fairies are my favs followed by Amy Brown Fairies.

5. I'm an avid reader, especially vampire novels. *I have a whole horror theme going, don't I* It all started with Lestat and right now it's all about Jean-Claude, Richard and Anita Blake. I also enjoy fantasy, science fiction, mystery, and the occasional chick lit. Not much for heavy romance.

6. I'm very eclectic when it comes to my musical tastes. I pretty much run the gamut from classical to hip-hop to some punk. I'm not a huge listener of country, but I do have a few songs here and there that I do like. I also listen to Italian folk songs as well as some of the popular artist of today *no, I don't totally understand, but more of the folk songs I grew-up and have learned to know what the song is talking about* Me, my sisters and all my 1st cousins are first generation Americans.

7. I worked in a movie theater for 8 years when I was in high school and college. Working at the Multiplex gave me to opportunity to meet numerous famous people who lived in the Westchester area. Vanessa Williams (post Miss America scandal but pre-Ugly Betty), Gene Simons and Shannon Tweed, Ron Howard, James Mitchell a.k.a. Palmer Cortlandt from AMC, Wayne Gretzky, Heavy D, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and others

Not suprising

Now, being that I am a media specialist and work with books all day long, does it really surprise anyone that I would be a literature nerd :)

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Literature Nerd

Does sitting by a nice cozy fire, with a cup of hot tea/chocolate, and a book you can read for hours even when your eyes grow red and dry and you look sort of scary sitting there with your insomniac appearance? Then you fit this category perfectly! You love the power of the written word and it's eloquence; and you may like to read/write poetry or novels. You contribute to the smart people of today's society, however you can probably be overly-critical of works.

It's okay. I understand.
